The Florida House Inn
Centrally located in downtown Fernandina on South 3rd Street, The Florida House Inn is the oldest continuously operated hotel in the state of Florida, originally built in 1857 as a railroad boarding house. The Inn has enchanted visitors for many centuries including Henry Ford, Mary Pickford, Laurel and Hardy, Ulysses S. Grant, The Rockefeller's, Carnegie's, Jose Marti, Union Soldiers and many more. The Inn was originally run by Annie Leddy along with her daughter Grace. They lived and worked at the Inn for over 50 years. We always say "only if these walls could talk, the stories would be something worth listening to."
Old Florida charm, southern hospitality, one-of-a-kind property

Just one look, and it’s easy to see why The Florida House Inn has been voted as one of the top wedding venues in North Florida. Distinguished on the National Register for Historic Places, this beautifully restored Inn offers an unparalleled backdrop for one-of-a-kind weddings, meetings, corporate receptions, and private celebrations. The Inn features 17 guest rooms, comfortable porches, a main dining room, The Mermaid Bar, back covered porch with porch bar, main courtyard with a 200+ year old live oak tree and mermaid fountain, lawn space and expansive side courtyard directly next to The Green Turtle Tavern, perfect for after parties and live music. The Lesesne House
Located at 415 Centre Street, The Lesense House is known as "the crown jewel on Centre Street." This antebellum, Greek Revival style residence dates from around 1856-1860. It was built by Dr. John F. Lesesne, who did not survive the Civil War. It was inherited by his 13 year-old daughter, whose estate sold the house to Judge John Friend for $3,000 in 1868. The Lesesne House is the oldest continuously inhabited house in Fernandina Beach. It is said to be the only post and beam house remaining on the island.
